About
Born and raised in Chicago, Marlyn enjoys sports, loves pizza and is fascinated by languages. She has studied Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Classical Latin and Ancient Greek. She is a proud alumna of the Latin School of Chicago and College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN.
Marlyn's name (pronounced mar-leen) is often mispronounced or misspelled. She has gotten Marilyn, Marianne, Maria and even Merlin. To make things a bit simpler, she started going by Mar for short. "Mar" means "sea" in Spanish. You might think the coast was clear. However, people started thinking it was "Mare" which is an adult female horse in English. It's Mar... like the sea!
Mar now calls Denver home and enjoys the 300-ish days of sunshine Colorado has to offer. Her hobbies include hiking, boxing, yoga, board games, and art. She also enjoys making breads, pastas and dumplings from scratch.
